Is there a limit on the time Replication can be down?

I was asked if there was a limit on the amount of clock time that the Replication agents may be down without snapshotting the subscribers. I think that the only factor is if the MSDB database contains the necessary data to feed a restarted Replication Agent.

Any comments?

If you don't have new subscribers, you don't need new snapshot. Is this what you were asking?|||I was asked if there was a limit on the amount of time our publisher could be "down" before having to re-snap the subscribers. I don't think there is some arbitrary limit but there could be!|||

That depends on the type of replication and your situation. i.e. if you are using merge with a 14 day retention period and you try to synchronize every month then you will run into expired subscriptions.
