Is SQL 7 the same as SQL 2000

Sorry for such a newbie question but I am serious. I know there was a SQL
6.5 but I'm not sure is 7 is the same as 2000 or the version that came
before 2000.SQL 7 and SQL 2000 are 2 totally different releases.
