Is receiving email with SQL Server dead?

I find no way to receive email with Database Mail. Is this accurate?
And why was this done?
-KJHi
DB Mail is SMTP based, so that is to send mail.
There is no IMAP/POP3 support in SQL Server 2005.
As far as I am concerned, mail is dead, web services are here to stay.

is_incoming and is_outgoing. What do you make of that?
