Try PostGIS
Paul|||yes, try postGIS (www.refractions.net), which can be used with postgresql.
These are both open source.

sure if all this is implemented yet, see
http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Spatial_extensions_in_MySQL.html
I'd be interested in comments from people who have worked with this.

Is the June CTP compatible with Visual Studio Beta 2
Different versions of .Net 2.0, maybe other files...
It is compatible, there are instructions with the June CTP as what you need to do but basically uninstall .Net then install SQL June CTP.-Euansql

Is SQL Server Beta 2 64 bit?
I have the SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 and would like to
install on an HP 585 AMD 64 bit server running Win2003 64
bit AMD(beta). Will the CD I have give me the 64 bit?
Thanks in advance.
Joe
Hi
SQL 2005 Beta 2 supports 32 bit plus AMD-64 and IA-64.
Just make sure you use the correct CD as each edition is on a separate one
and read the associated setup instructions about limitations.

Is SP2 Beta Closed?
I followed the instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842440.
After logging on to the Beta Site using the Guest ID it says "Sorry, you are
not enrolled in any programs that are utilizing Microsoft Beta.". There is
no link to take the survey.
I even went to http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/betanominations.asp
and there was nothing about SP2.
Is the SP2 Beta closed?
Thanks,
